Sodium chloride (NaCl) is a colorless crystalline, uneven substance without odor. Sea or kitchen salt. It dissolves in water well. It is environmentally safe. Purpose and use It is an inhibitor of clay hydration that prevents destruction of wellbore walls. It can be used as main mineralizer in high-mineralized solutions. It also may use as soil-aggregate stabilizer in re-stabilized salt-free drilling muds. It main advantage before other salts is considerable increase of concentration of saturation upon increase of the temperature up to 100ºC. Upon use of NaCI as a weighting agents density of solution reaches 1.15-1.20 g/cm3, excluding solid phase.
